The Bridgend Chess Club AGM has been set for 5th June 2017.
There’s been some changes in the league this season so I’ve created a map in Google Maps that provides the location and key contacts for each club in the East Glam League.
If any clubs in the league want to borrow this map for their own members, feel free to share it!

After a brief tenure apart, Bridgend Central Club and Bridgend Chess Club have decided to undergo a merger and operate as one club under the name Bridgend Chess Club. The merger will see old friends and new players join together to strengthen the club improving the longevity and visibility of Chess in Bridgend.
Bridgend Chess Club is now on Instagram @bridgendchessclub.
The West House is back open after it’s refurbishment and is looking great!
The venue now serves food between 12pm-3pm and 6pm-9pm Tuesday to Saturday with a Sunday carvery from 12pm-3pm. The kitchen is closed on a Monday.
The new menu is proving a great success so booking is advisable. The West House can be reached on 07908336959.
Well, another season is over with a mixed bag of results for Bridgend Chess Club.
Our Porthcawl team had a very tough season in Div. 2 and face relegation to be replaced by our A team that finished Div.3 in second place (0.5 points off first!) so have won a promotion.
Our B team that we use to develop our newest members finished Div.4 in the top half of table which is a fantastic result. We are still looking for new players to join our B team so if you fancy getting involved all the contact details can be found on the ‘contact us’ page.
