New Venue

We are pleased to announce that from June 6th we will be meeting in a new venue at Nolton Hall in Bridgend.

The new venue will provide is with better accessibility, a more central location in Bridgend and a quieter atmosphere for us to play chess.

We will still be meeting every Monday at 7:30pm. All welcome.

I am thrilled to post that we are finally reopening after being unable to meet for over 18 months. After a successful trial this week we will be up and running for any existing or new members from next Monday 18th October AT 7:30pm at Aberkenfig Sports and Social Club.

In line with the Welsh Chess Union guidance there are a few Covid-19 requirements that we ask all players to adhere to:

Face Coverings are required to be worn when in the venue at all times

Players who have not had both doses of the Covid-19 vaccination are required to provide a negative PCR test before attending

Individuals displaying any Covid-19 symptoms are required to stay away from the club.

We will of course also be taking measures to clean and sanitise equipment between use and hand sanitiser will be provided on the night.

If you intend on coming or having an queries regarding the above, please get in touch.

Looking forward to seeing you,

There’s been some changes in the league this season so I’ve created a map in Google Maps that provides the location and key contacts for each club in the East Glam League.

If any clubs in the league want to borrow this map for their own members, feel free to share it!
